92 Points - Special Value"Blend of shiraz, cabernet and tempranillo. It pours on the power. Kirsch, licorice, black tea and eucalypt flavours drive heartily through the palate, trailing as they do dry whacks of tannin. Not your average $20 wine. Grabs you by the throat." James halliday's Australian Wine Companion.
A blend of Shiraz, Mourvedre, Grenache and Tempranillo grapes all sourced from Barossa Valley vineyards. Each variety is individually fermented to dryness on skins then matured in old French and American oak for six months prior to bottling. The colour is vibrant red with a burst of dark cherry and spice on the bouquet leading to a softly textured finish. Shiraz delivers fruit depth and structure, while the Tempranillo is firm and savoury. Mourvedre brings a wild earthiness and all are bound together by the aromatic and spicy nature of Grenache which softens the palate.
