Winner Best Shiraz Trophy Daylesford Wine ShowThe 2014 Water Wheel Memsie Shiraz has carried off the trophy for Best Shiraz at the Daylesford Wine Show - a staggering achievement for a £12 wine! The aromas and flavours are a cornucopia of black fruits, ranging through black cherry, plums and blackberries. The wine will age gracefully for up to a decade.
Red-purple in colour. The nose has scents of freshly crushed ripe blackberries, dark plums and liquorice followed by some vanillin oak and pepper. The full bodied palate boasts a juicy rich flavours: fresh blackberries and plums followed by some liquorice, vanillin oak and blackpepper. The finish is rich and full. Cellar through to 2020.
The wine is a lively violet color. On the nose there are integrated spice, blackcurrant and cherry-vanilla aromas. The palate has complex flavours of ripe berries, raspberries and cherries with savoury oak undertones. The wine has great length and finishes with silky tannins and a rich finish.
