Premium Riesling fruit was selected from Stuart Woodman's 100 year old vineyard near Springton. The grapes were ripe with typical aromatic lime characters that are distinctive of the Eden Valley region. The fruit was crushed and immediately chilled to 10 degrees to reduce the possibility of oxidation. The juice was settled and the clean juice was seeded with an aromatic yeast strain for fermentation which took 3 weeks. After fermentation, the wine was settled and cold stabilized prior to filtration.
The wine is pale green, bright and clear, with a herbaceous, lovely Sauvignon Blanc like characters and subtle rosewater tints. The palate is smooth and rich, well balanced with fresh citrus freshness and length.

Colin Forbes founded the Craneford winery in 1984 at Springton and achieved great success during the 1980s and early 90s. During the 1993 vintage he was involved in a horrific car crash which necessitated 12 months in Rehab. By his own admission it was seven years before he could contribute to the world again, during which time Craneford was sold. He is now back with his original vineyard sources, again producing stunning wines.
Stuart Woodman's 100 year old vineyard, situated near Springton in the Eden Valley supplies the outstanding fruit for this Riesling.
