Primo Estate Zamberlan Cabernet Sangiovese 2015 14.5% 6x75

Primo Estate Zamberlan Cabernet Sangiovese 2015 14.5% 6x75

Price: 125.00

Quantity:

The 2015 Zamberlan is a rich and complex wine with multiple layers of fruit, spice and subtle oak and a rich, savoury finish.
It is named after Joe's father-in-law, Rinaldo Zamberlan, who first suggested using the Ripasso technique, where newly fermented young Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon juice is pumped over dried grape skins from a previous batch, in this case the skins leftover from Primo's flagship the JOSEPH Moda, for additional fermentation. The juice is then pressed and barrel aged in the very best oak barriques.
The wine has incredibly intense and complex aromas: ripe dark fruits of the forest and a nutmeg spicy lift. Rich chocolate from the Ripasso process is counterbalanced with a maraschino cherry lift from the Sangiovese.
The palate is rich and full bodied with firm tannins and succulent cassis fruit notes over chocolate and tobacco leaf flavours, while the Sangiovese brings a savoury finish with cherry fruit characters.
It has amazing depth and layers of flavour. The 2015 Zamberlan is drinking well now and will improve in the bottle for over a decade.

JOSEPH Sparkling Red both defines and defies its genre: an iconic Australian unlike any of its peers. It confidently stands shoulder to shoulder with the world's classics, and therefore proudly holds top rank in my wine canon'. - Richard Hemming, jancisrobinson.com
96 points James Halliday Australian Wine Guide:"Every year a hogshead of Joseph Moda Amarone is added to the base wine, limiting the production to slightly less than 36 dozen bottles. It also means that the style is similar from one release to another, the appeal of the red and black fruit flavours universal." James Halliday
An Australian icon with dark, brooding opulence and layered complexity nurtured over many years. Creamy and fresh with a super fine bead, this is the modern history of Australian red wine in a bottle. The JOSEPH Sparkling Red is a unique blend of museum vintages from the last forty years combined with a barrel each of the ultra premium JOSEPH Moda Cabernet Merlot and Primo Estate Shiraz added every year since 1989.
After traditional fermentation in the bottle, the JOSEPH Sparkling Red rests on lees. It is then liqueured carefully to ensure a drier style and obtain a perfect balance.
