"Bright red in the glass, it has floral aromatics of a spring rose garden with spice and red fruit that jump out of the glass. The palate is luscious with a generosity of fruits, from strawberry to a hint of cinnamon, harnessed by fine, sandy tannins. It drinks perfectly with slow-roasted lamb shoulder. Enjoy from now until 2025." Halliday Wine Companion Magazine April/May 2017 Issue

" a unique blend of Grenache, Tempranillo and Malbec grapes has resulted in an astounding red that's full-bodied yet silky and alluring." Matthew Jukes (Daily Mail)
"Turbo-charged Aussie reds love barbecues, so tuck into this bargain beef, cedar and leather-scented 14.5 per cent hulk." Jane MacQuitty (The Times)

The Fergus is a legend - first produced in 1993 from neighbour Fergus Mahon's Grenache vineyard. The 2012 Fergus continues the lineage, predominately Grenache, with support roles by tempranillo, mataro and shiraz, all combining to form a spicy, juicy wine with lifted red berry aromas and flavours, grenache spiciness and given extra back palate firmness provided by the blending of the other varieties. It's medium weighted and superbly crafted to be a fantastic food partner, especially duck, lamb and gamey meats. Fergus will cellar patiently through to 2020.

G7 refers to seventh generation Scholz family who help create this spicy fruit driven Grenache blend. 80% Grenache and 20% Shiraz spend 12 months maturation in older French oak barrels. The wine is vibrant crimson in colour with lively fresh berry fruit succulence. The palate shows softly textured tannins with beautiful wild cherry fruits and the spicy overtones expected of Grenache, along with the strength and length of Shiraz. Drink over the next few years.

"93 points. This grenache is a fine achievement at the price, boasting the varietal genetics of kirsch and tangy red fruits, all slung with alacrity across a beam of crunchy, pumice-tuned tannins and assuaging pomegranate acidity." James Halliday's Australian Wine Companion

The fruit for this wine is a blend of McLaren Vale sub-regions; the main components from Blewitt Springs and McLaren Flat being from vines that have been in the ground for more than 50 years. It has delicate and spicy aromas with dark cherry and white pepper. Medium bodied tannins are complemented by the strawberry and raspberry fruit on the finish.

Arguably Australia’s premier Rhone-style red, Nine Popes started out as a tribute to the Chateauneufs that Charlie enjoyed and has gone on to surpass many of them. A Grenache-based wine with some Shiraz and Mourvedre, it has wonderful flavours of blackberries and plums, good acidity, fine tannins and a silky finish.
