This wine is very much a sum of its parts, with perfumed cherry characters coming from the Sexton Vineyard, Campari notes from Applejack and Tarraford's mocha and cocoa earthiness shining through. It has vibrant red and blue fruits but a lovely underlying earthiness, with white mushrooms, truffles, savoury spice, forest floor and must stick. A beautifully elegant wine with breadth, structure and viscosity on the palate.

94 points. "Mid-red, good depth; this spicy, red fruit-scented pinot is classic Adelaide Hills, juicy, fine and full of fine-grained tannins, the silky finish and kick of eucalypt typical." James Halliday's Australian Wine Companion
Vibrant ruby red in colour. The nose has perfumes of summer pudding fruits – raspberries, redcurrants and cherries. A hint of cedar and spice from the new French oak blends well with a subtle minty aroma. The palate is tangy and well balanced, with intense fruit flavours and silky tannins.

On the nose the aromas are a strongly perfumed style redolent of spicy black cherry, dark fruits and hints of raspberries. The wine displays a juicy, sweet-fruit middle palate with soft, ripe tannins and fresh acidity.

The light colour belies the intensity of this wine. Red fruit aromas in the red cherry and redcurrant spectrum carry through onto the palate. A medium bodied style, with some savoury elements, and a firm, grippy finish, with tautness and strictness that bodes well for cellaring.
2012 was a terrific vintage. Beautiful weather, without extremes of temperature, produced pristine fruit with great flavours. The only downside was that crops were lower than expected, but a price we were more than happy to pay for great quality.
