Willows Vineyard Bonesetter Shiraz 2014 14.9% 6x75

Willows Vineyard Bonesetter Shiraz 2014 14.9% 6x75

"94 points. No holds barred on the bouquet, with a display of luxurious oak, Christmas pudding and minty, mentholated fruit. Rich and sweet in flavour, heavy in texture and armed with imposing tannins." James Halliday's Australian Wine Companion
This flagship from the Willows vineyard is a tribute to Johann Gottfried Scholz, who arrived in the Barossa in 1845 and found that his healing skills gained as a bonesetter in the Prussian Army made him a legend among the Silesian settlers. His sons and grandsons ran the Willows Hospital on the site for more than 100 years.
In the late 1960`s a small Shiraz vineyard was planted and became known by the family as the Bonesetter’s block. Selected premium parcels of Shiraz fruit from this mature vineyard are fermented in open fermenters, then basket press before ageing the wine in new French oak hogsheads for two years.
The 2014 shows typical Barossa voluptuous richness and structure, intense and powerful ripe fruit along with supporting fine tannins and stylish savoury oak. It is a multi-layered powerhouse that will reward those who cellar it carefully. Halliday rating 94 points...Drink through to 2030
